Sneak Peek in 'Eros'

"Are you sure, Jamie?" The auburn-haired boy asked his friend who was standing next to him with a rose-pink colored paper in her hand.

"Don't worry, Ryan, it'll be fine." She said, reassuring him with a cock of her eyebrow before handing the paper to him and a pen. "Just write simple words like; 'I like you.' or 'Will you be mine?'. Don't write anything cheesy, okay? It disgusts me." 

Ryan, who was the brunette boy, took a deep breath and wrote down on the pink paper as the ink of the fountain pen spread a bit. Will you be mine? It wrote. Then he placed it between his mini robot's servos, beside a rose, exchanging looks with Jamie. "You sure this will work?"

"Positive. Now go get your girl." Those words were the last words that were said before activating the robot and controlling it towards a lab which belonged to Ryan's long time crush; Autumn Lake. 

It marched into the lab, while knocking off some stuffs along the way, until it bumped to a blonde girl's feet. She looked down from her working desk to find the cute robot holding up a paper to her and a rose. The girl glanced at it for a while, confused. The robot kept insisting her to take the paper and the rose by kicking her feet gently with its metal legs.

"Okay, okay, I will." She giggled, taking the paper and flipped it open, revealing a bit of a messy handwriting, shaping words of: Will you be mine?     

At first, the blonde was confused, but once she saw Ryan waving at her from his lab - which was at the opposite of hers -, she looked away, flustered by his message. Her cheeks grew warm and pink as she worked on her drawing iPad. Autumn decided to give a surprise reply for him. On the screen, she drew an manga version of them both hugging with a neatly written glowing graffiti under it that said: I would be honored. 

She blew on the screen, and swiftly like wind, the picture & words were floating in mid-air as if they were made by magic. That's what Autumn believed in for a long time; there is such thing as magic, if you believe. And that's why she wanted to invent this iPad, for just drawing or writing special messages.

A grin grew on her face as well as Ryan's. He was really surprised by the message, that he would want to scream out loud right now, but unfortunately, he couldn't because it would disturb the others. But what mattered now was that she loves him and he loves her, and it will never change.

Beside Ryan's lab, Jamie was fangirling and squealing happily. She always knew they loved each other, so that's why she wanted them to confess. She's their matchmaker & best friend, she would always be right by their side when they need her as she needs them, and whoever wants to ruin the couple's relationship will have to answer to her; only her.
Not long after they confessed, Jamie saw Ryan walking to Autumn and held her hand in his. Both had happy faces which she would never want to erase from them. "I knew you could do it." Jamie grinned, cupping her hands together.

My first novel 'Eros' will hopefully be published at the end of July. Insya Allah, everything will be fine with the editing and layouts. For fellow Indonesians, IWEC's books (Indonesia Writing Education Center), will be published in Togamas bookstore on July.
